Who's Hot Wednesday posted on 10/08/2008

Well Folks, it’s that time again: Who’s Hot Wednesday is upon us. As promised, today’s special guests are Kurt Warner and Seth Petruzelli. So without further adieu, let’s get this thing started.

Bob/Aidan: Kurt, thanks for taking the time out to join us. How are you feeling?

Kurt: You know, I’m feeling pretty good. We had a big win at home over Buffalo this week and we’re looking forward to Dallas.

Bob/Aidan: Yeah, that was a huge win over Buffalo. Arizona’s passing game looks good, but the same can’t be said about your rushing game.

Kurt: We’re still working on that part of our game. It’ll come. I know a lot of people are saying that Edge is past his prime and I know he’s definitely been looking like it this year, but I think the guy still has some juice left in him. Hell, look how old I am!

Monday Mourning posted on 10/06/2008

So I normally title my Monday blog: Monday Mourning due to being hungover from a full day of drinking and watching sports, hence the “mourning” because I have to get up, go to work, puke in the bathroom, and subsequently fall asleep in all of my meetings and get absolutely no work done. But today is different, mainly due to the fact that CBS’s and Fox’s regional coverage of NFL games in my area was HORRIBLE. Games that had a spread of +11 with no fantasy implications at all were being aired, so I went and watched polo (you know, the sport where guys on horses trot around and whack a ball with mallets). I had never been to a polo game before but we decided to go due to the possibility of attractive females (there are always beautiful women at horse events). We mingled with a few and made up some elaborate lies that we were just checking out the competition and had our horses stabled a few miles away. We were obviously out of place, with our cheers of “nice pass man!” and “shoooooot it!” but we wholeheartedly plan on attending it every Sunday for the rest of the season – pending what NFL games are on of course.

Week 4 in the NFL posted on 09/29/2008

Well, it's Monday morning. All of us are recovering from a roller-coaster weekend of football. I sat on the same couch, in the same clothes, in the same position from Thursday evening (USC/Oregon St thriller) until 8:35pm on Sunday night. It wasn't until Sunday morning that I realized how bad I actually smelled.

It was a crazy college football week with 5 huge upsets (USC, Georgia, Florida, Wisconsin, and Wake). I was so sure on the USC game that I bet the janitor at my office $50 and gave him Oregon St +18. I know Oklahoma got boosted to the #1 spot, but Alabama looked the most dominant to me. They are unstoppable! Did you see those stats on Nick Saban? During his short career at 'Bama, he has held the lead for 342 minutes, been tied for 26 minutes, and trailed for 0 minutes!! That means he's never even let a team score first! That is ridiculous. They're the team to beat, but their schedule doesn't look very promising (Ole Miss, at Tenn, at LSU, Auburn), although if Coffee keeps running as strong as a Dark Roast double espresso mocha latte, I sure wouldn't want to face them.
