A story posted today( http://www.sbnation.com/2010/3/1/1331361/fedor-emelianenko-hold) states that Fedor Emelianenko's management company M-1 global is having problems with Strikeforce. The story states that M-1 and Strikeforce are unable to agree on co-promotion terms and states that M-1 will not allow Fedor to fight for Strikeforce again without a new contract. Now I'm sure this will work itself out and Fedor will fight Fabricio Werdum in May as planed, but lets just take a walk down fantasy land for a moment and discuss the possible outcomes and what it could mean for us MMA fans.

Now the first thing that I want to say is that I don't blame Anderson Silva for the debacle at UFC 97. It really wasn't his fault and I have to give credit to Chuck for coming to his defense. However on a whole UFC 97's card for the most part stunk.

David "Tank" Abbott the grey breaded warrior as some call him. We all remeber him from the early days of MMA and in the early days of the UFC. I'm going back to about 1996 to about 98. Tank had a name for himself. Could knock out anyone with those heavy hands. Of course durning this time period it wasn't true MMA it was more style vs style. I think just his whole look. I mean the guy looks like a badass got his fame going then in 1998 Tank Abbott signs with the WCW and becomes a professinal wrestler. Really helping out the sport that helped him get where he is today. So he stays in the WCW till it's fall all the while MMA evolved into what it currently is.

Ken Shamrock a name that's synonymous with MMA. A fighter at UFC 1 back when it was style vs. style. He lost in the semi-finals to the legend Royce Gracie. A few years later he'd fight Royce again to a draw at UFC 5 at that time an unheard of end for a Gracie fight. Shamrock leaves the UFC in 1996 to go fight in Pride. At the end of 2002 which I'll call his peak or at least before he started desecrating the sport that made him a household name his record was 20-7-2. He came back at UFC 40 to start his feud with Tito Ortiz. They had three fights Shamrock one none of them. In fact Kimo is the only guy he beat from 2/24/02 till 2/13/09.

I hope most of you watched WEC on Sunday because if you missed it then you missed a treat espescially the title fight between Takeya Mizugaki vs. Miguel Torres. A great five round fight that i would've liked to have seen a finish because the decision was complete bs. I'm not taking anything away from the fighters both of them gave one of the best fights of the year in my opinion. On the other hand the fight proved that the judges will always heavily favor the champ. Because to make it a unanimous decision was pure favoritism. I know that the generale rule of fighting is to never leave it in the hands of the judges because you'll probably get screwed. I know that in the ten point must system one of the fighters has to win the round but I watched the fight and will say the Mizugaki should've gotten at least one of the judges or won the fight.

I don't know about the rest of you fight fans out there but the fighter in my mind that needs to just be beaten to a bloody pulp - Josh Koscheck. I don't know if I'm alone in my hatred of him but GOD! i just want to see the arrogant SOB get KO'd. I first saw Josh like most of us on the first season of the Ultamite Fighter. Along with having some of the most boring matches in history. Lay and Pray for a decision victory yay! that's exciting. He was the biggest SOB in the house except maybe for Bobby Southworth I think his name was. I almost jumped up and down when Diego Sanchez beat him and since that time every time I see him fight that's all I've ever wanted to see.

Well it's that time again, time for the UFC to find another opponenet that's able to survive against Anderson Silva. This time they picked Thales Leites and not a bad choice. I know many people are saying that Leites is just a bone for Silva's mandatory title defence but would anyone like pointing out who's The Spider's equal in the 185 division. Silva's got that division in a stranglehold, he's the best p4p fighter in the world and he's proves it time and time again. Leites on the other hand maybe enough of an underdog to give Silva a run for his money and all of us fight fans an upset. Let's look at the fighters.

Brock Lesnar almost from the moment he walked into his first match in MMA people have been just unmerciful to him. Saying he's not a real fighter that this is all a joke that he's another hype job like Kimbo Slice. So he has his first match against Min Soo Kim and wins that one and gets into the UFC. Yes I'll admit in large part do to the fame that he got from the WWE. First fight in he loses to Frank Mir by a leg lock. Everybody screams and shouts that this proves that Lesnar is a joke and that he has no business in real MMA. Didn't anyone notice that for most of the fight that Brock was pounding Mir's face in. At the post-fight interview which fighter looked better.

It's time ladies and gentlemen. April 1 at 8pm, Spike TV, Fight Night Live. I'm going to give you my picks for each fight. This should be a good card.

Condit (23-4) v. Kampmann (14-2)

People who haven't seen any WEC fights may be unfamiliar with Carlos Condit, their Welterweight champion. I've caught a couple of his fights and I liked what I saw. He's very good on his feet, his jiu-jitsu is solid, and he's got a really active guard. One thing that stood out was his cardio. Those boys in the WEC really know how to push the pace, and he was as good as any other. His competition hasn't been world class, so this will be his first real test.

The first thing I want to say is that I love the Iceman like most other MMA fans do. Chuck was the first fighter that got me interested in MMA and was my first favorite to. For being the odds on favorite, Brock wasn't really given any love last night.  It ended up being a great fight, as Randy tried to work his favorite game plan: Putting his opponent against the fense.  However in this case, Lesnar might have proven too big and strong for Randy to work this angle.  shortly into the 2nd round Lesnar came hard with a right to the side of Randy's head sending him to the canvas.  Lesnar pounced and pounded on Randy for what seemed like an eternity before the ref callded the fight.
