Well it's that time again, time for the UFC to find another opponenet that's able to survive against Anderson Silva. This time they picked Thales Leites and not a bad choice. I know many people are saying that Leites is just a bone for Silva's mandatory title defence but would anyone like pointing out who's The Spider's equal in the 185 division. Silva's got that division in a stranglehold, he's the best p4p fighter in the world and he's proves it time and time again. Leites on the other hand maybe enough of an underdog to give Silva a run for his money and all of us fight fans an upset. Let's look at the fighters.
Anderson Silva - Almost everything in the world has been said about this guy. He doesn't have any weak points to speak of. He's never had a fight go to a decision in the UFC. Anderson Silva just smash through whatever opponent the UFC put in front of him. Best fighter in the world today enough said.
Thales Leites - Okay this guy has one chance to beat Silva, get him on the ground. While Silva is still deadly on the ground I think that Leites is the stronger of the two on the ground. He's won his last 5 fight three of them with first round subs. I still don't think that Leites has a prayer one of his 5 wins was a split decision over Nate Marquardt a man that Silva KO'd in the first round. I hope for Leites sake that Silva takes the fight to lightly and he's ready give the fight of his career and gets lucky.
Honestly the MW division is at a stand still. Silva outmatches any fighter in there, why doesn't the UFC try this. Take the winner of the Rashad Evans - Lyoto Machida fight on May 23 and put them in against Anderson Silva for the LHW belt. He's won at 205 before well let's see if he can become the first man to ever hold two belts in two division at the same time. Because it's clear that at the moment at least middleweights don't have a prayer
